Do I need a kit before I can schedule a collection?

Yes — you need to have a lab order and/or test kit from one of our partner labs before scheduling through MOMS. The kit contains the collection materials and is specific to your test. If you haven’t received your kit yet, contact your ordering provider or the lab directly.

Does insurance cover the collection fee?

Coverage varies depending on your insurance plan and the specific test ordered. MOMS does not bill insurance directly — the lab or your ordering provider handles billing. Contact your lab or ordering provider to understand what costs may be covered by your plan.

What do I need to bring to my appointment?

Bring your test kit, a valid photo ID, and any preparation notes from your lab. When you schedule through MOMS, your lab’s specific preparation instructions are sent to you automatically — so you’ll know exactly what to do before your appointment (fasting requirements, medication holds, etc.).

How soon will I get my results?

Results are processed and delivered by your ordering lab — not by MOMS. Timing varies by test type and lab. Typically results are available within 3–7 business days after your specimen is received by the lab. Contact your ordering provider or lab for specific turnaround information.

Can I request a mobile phlebotomist?

Yes. When searching in the MOMS Patient Portal, you can filter for mobile phlebotomy options — providers who travel to your location. Availability varies by area, but mobile MAPs are active across the top 100 metropolitan areas and beyond.

What if I walk into a collection site without scheduling?

Many MOMS MAP locations accept walk-in patients. The collection site can add you as a walk-in appointment directly from their portal, or you can scan the Walk-In QR code at the front desk to schedule on the spot. Scheduling ahead is recommended to ensure availability.

What if there are no collection sites near me?

Our MAP Network is growing every day. If you don’t see options near you, try searching in a nearby city or zip code, or look for mobile phlebotomy providers who can travel to your location. You can also contact MOMS Support for assistance finding coverage in your area.

Is my health information safe?
